About the Author:
Sven Hassel was the pen name of Børge Willy Redsted Pedersen, a Danish author famous for bestselling, gritty, semi-autobiographical novels about German penal soldiers in World War II, though his claims of extensive wartime service were later disputed, revealing a complex history as a Danish collaborator with the Nazis before his writing career.
