About the Author:

Gerald Durrell (1925-1995) was a famous British naturalist, zookeeper, conservationist, writer, and TV personality known for his humorous books about his childhood in Corfu, like My Family and Other Animals, and his efforts in wildlife conservation, founding the Jersey Zoo (now Durrell Wildlife Park). His writing, often autobiographical and funny, detailed his passion for animals and adventures collecting them, making him a beloved figure who helped popularize both nature writing and Greek island tourism.
