Jonathan Stroud is a British author famous for fantasy books for children and young adults, notably the popular Bartimaeus Sequence (featuring a sarcastic djinni) and the Lockwood & Co. series (ghost-hunting in an alternate London). He began writing as a child, studied English literature, and worked as a children's book editor before publishing his own successful novels, blending fantasy with satire and alternate history, with works adapted for TV by Netflix.
